Popcorn Ball Sunday

12/21/08: Members of Citizens Engine participated in the annual tradition of delivering popcorn balls to the residents of Seymour.

 


 

Car into Pole with Entrapment

10/23/08: Extrication of one patient from a car vs. pole. There was heavy damage to the vehicle - had to take two doors and roll the roof to free the patient. The extrication time was around 12 to 15 minutes. The patient was transported by EMS to a trauma center. Units were on scene for about one hour.

Two Car MVA

10/20/08: Route 67 and Silvermine Road was the scene of this two car MVA. E-11 and R-12 were on scene for 30 minutes. Vehicle occupants suffered minor injuries.

Structure Fire

10/17/08: Structure fire at Aldo's Garage on South Main Street. Crews were able to make a quick knockdown of the fire.

Facelift

9/11/08: The sign above our firehouse has recently been repaired and repainted. Members hung the sign back up before our Wednesday night drill.

 

 


 

07/19/08:         MVA WITH EXTRICATION

 

Two car MVA. Extrication of one patient was needed which was also a pending code 200. Units were on scene for two hours. Time of extrication was under eight minutes.

Bethany Tanker Drill

E-13 went to a tanker drill in the Town of Bethany where they put down 1,000 feet of 5 inch. The Town of Bethany and other towns put a total of 6,000 feet of 5 inch hose down for this drill.

 


 

Mutual Aid to Ansonia

6/15/08: Mutual aid to the City of Ansonia for the electrical problem in a house on Myrtle Ave. Both E-11 and T-14 responded.

MUTUAL AID TO OXFORD
03/13/08:     E-11 was dispatched to the town of Oxford for a working structure fire. E-11 and its crew stood by at the fire scene most of the A.M. and provided R.I.T.

Early A.M. Crash

Two car motor vehicle accident. Four patients involved with two transports. R-12 and E-13 were on scene for 30 minutes.

Route 8 Crash

1/1/08: One car MVA. No injuries. On scene for 15 minutes with R-12 cleaning up fluids from the vehicle. While on scene we witnessed another crash in the southbound lane. R-12 responded to that call as well. No one was hurt. All units were returned to service per command.
